The MountCrest Founders’ Moot Club has presented the awards they won at the recently
held Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition in Accra to the Management of MCU. The
competition was among 10 universities.
The MCU team won two prestigious awards: ‘’The Overall Best Oralist’’ and ‘’The Best and Most
Distinguished School in Academic Legal Excellence”.
The other participating universities are University of Ghana, Legon; Kwame Nkrumah
University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Kumasi; Ghana Institute of Management and
Public Administration; University of Professional Studies, Accra; Kings University; Central
University; Winsconsin University; University of Cape Coast and Ghana School of Law.
At the ceremony, the Rector, Ms. Irene Ansa-Asare, presented a cheque for GHS 16,000 from
the Founders of MCU, Mr. Kwaku Ansa-Asare and his wife Mrs. Helena Ansa-Asare, to the
Moot Club in appreciation of the Club’s hard work during the competition.
The President of the Students Representative Council (SRC), Seyram Kofi Seyram, also
presented a cash donation from the Students body to the Club as an appreciation of the
team’s remarkable efforts.
The President of the Moot Club, T.K. Dzidula-Awudi, expressed gratitude to the University’s
Founders and the Rector for their vision and support. He expressed special thanks to Mrs.
Irene Chiaki Korley-Ayerteye Esq. a Law lecturer, for her guidance and prayers.
He said that as the team reflected on its accomplishments, it looked forward to future challenges
and victories.
At the ceremony, held at the Accra Campus, were both academic and administrative staff and
students.
