His career interest lies in the field of strategic management, particularly service quality in public services, organisations, educational institutions etc.

He has an MBA (Specific Interest in Strategic Management) from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK; a Master’s in Organisation, Planning & Management in Education from University of Reading, England, UK; a BA in French and English, University of Cape Coast; a Certificate in Developing Management & Leadership Skills from Path (Scotland) & University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, a Diploma in French Education from the University of Education, Winneba and a Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ from Mount Mary College of Education, Somanya, Ghana.

Among the positions Koomson has held in his extensive work experience, are Director of Administration (Registrar) at the Accra College of Medicine; Assistant Registrar at MountCrest University College where he doubled as Faculty Officer for the School of Medical & Health Sciences (2012-2015); Adjunct Lecturer, Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration (GIMPA); Senior Project Worker, Central Edinburgh Homelessness Service, Scotland; Administrative Officer, Rural Payments Agency, Ministry of Food & Agriculture, Reading, England; Assistant Examiner, West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC), Accra.

Koomson has made a lot of presentations at Workshops, Conferences and Seminars in Ghana and the United Kingdom.
His publication ‘’The Role of Total Quality Management in Effective Public Service Management & Leadership: A Case Study in Ghana’’ is published in the International Hospitality Student Journal, Vol 1, 07/10. His work in progress is on the Tourism Industry in Ghana.
In his leisure hours, Koomson, a Choirmaster of the Methodist Church of Ghana, loves singing, listening to music and watching football and boxing.
